We got to know a bit more about one of our most talented beauty therapists

"I left the offices behind"

We conducted a short interview with Joanna so that you can get to know a bit more about her and her experience.

Tell us a little about yourself

My name is Joanna. I moved to Jersey from Poland 7 years ago and beauty therapy is my passion. I am hard-working, enthusiastic, and am especially creative in all areas of beauty.

What is your experience as a beauty therapist?

I have over 5 years experience in the beauty industry. Originally I began working in a hotel spa and beauty salon which really started my career and made me know it’s what I wanted to do. I am fully trained in all areas of beauty therapy and I’d like to think that I’m highly adaptable.

What would you say your specialty is?

That’s a tough one. I perform the full lineup of beauty treatments. I really do enjoy them all as it’s about the person i’m treating feeling better about themselves and that’s the goal. I really enjoy massage, waxing, tinting, manicures, pedicures and facials. But if I really had to pick, my favourite would have to be nails and facials because it can really change a look and make the person feel instantly better about themselves.

Why did you want to become a beauty therapist?

I worked in an office for many years. When I moved to Jersey I wanted to change my profession as I was always very interested in beauty. So over a few years I completed my courses and got qualified in every area I could, left the offices behind and here I am.

What qualifications do you have as a beauty therapist?

I currently have NVQ levels 2 & 3 Beauty Therapy, Foundation Level Pro Make-up,  Advance Make-up Techniques, and Eyelash Extensions.

How do you think you are different to other beauty therapists?

I pride myself in my work and make it my responsibility to get you the results you want. I don’t know if it makes me different…but I am always trying to work with my clients as best I can to get what they’re after – I am a bit of a perfectionist.

Above all else I enjoy seeing my clients leave happy and that transformation that occurs when they visit.

What out of work hobbies do you enjoy

In my free time I enjoy going to the gym and sometimes playing badminton. I also cycle a fair bit and of course on the quieter days, watching movies and reading”

We really enjoyed talking to Joanna and hoped you enjoyed learning more about her.
